Cambodia’s General Tires Technology nears completion of new tire factory

Phnom Penh, Cambodia – The Phnom Penh Post reports that General Tires Technology (Cambodia) Co Ltd is expected to complete construction on its $300 million tire factory, which broke ground in early 2022.

The Ministry of Commerce’s business directory notes that General Tires Technology was previously named General Intelligence (Cambodia) Co Ltd, which Shanghai-listed Jiangsu General Science Technology Co Ltd identifies on its website as an “overseas subsidiary”.

The factory will have an annual production capacity of five million “small” tires and 900,000 “large” ones and employ about 1,600 workers – mostly locals.
